The Topmade Dragon Boat Club has teams to match one's level of competitiveness.

Below is a quick definition of each type of team, the goals and their expectations.

The Recreational Open-Mixed Teams

  • Emphasis on learning the art of dragon boating while having fun and meeting other soon to be dragon boat enthusiasts
  • Receive basic paddling, drumming and steering techniques
  • Team practice commitment is 1 practice per week

The Semi-Competitive Team

  • Emphasis on learning advanced paddling skills (starts, powers and finishes)
  • Welcomes regimented and structured practices focusing on improving the level of paddling and endurance
  • Team practice commitment is 2-3 practices a week

The Competitive Team

  • Team dedicated, disciplined and focused to winning and excelling in all aspects of the Dragon Boat sport (physical as well as mental preparation)
  • Members are asked to put aside personal needs and dedicate efforts to achieving team/club goals
  • Team practice commitment is 3 practices a week
